TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial Government confirmed it had drafted regulations for administering AstraZeneca vaccines as part of the capital’s Covid-19 immunization program.
The city’s Health Agency Head Widyastuti said a circular on the distribution of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been issued.
Jakarta has received 1.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the Health Ministry and is set to kick off the vaccination process on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, for the public. “28,000 residents have been injected with the AstraZeneca vaccine,” said Widyastuti in an online discussion on Wednesday.
The government has made the priority list for the AstraZeneca shot as stated in the Health Agency’s Circular No. 5134/1.778.16 signed by Widyastuti on Tuesday, May 4.
The first priority group is residents living in the community unit or RW noted in the Gubernatorial Regulation No. 90 of 2018 concerning the integrated settlement upgrading. The second priority group is residents living in areas with the potential for cases of Covid-19 variant categorized as variants of concern (VOC).
The third priority group is residents living in areas that enforced the micro-scale community activity restriction (Micro PPKM) in accordance with the priority scale or zoning area with high-risk Covid-19 transmission. The classification of the zoning area and the enforcement of Micro PPKM is evaluated every two weeks.
