TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the Jakarta Health Agency Widyastuti on Wednesday announced the shipment of 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines which will be distributed to the capital city’s healthcare facilities that provide Covid-19 vaccination services.
“Starting from May 5, 2021, every Covid-19 vaccination facility in Jakarta will serve first dose of inoculations using the AstraZeneca shot,” said Widyastuti in an online discussion on May 5.
The healthcare facilities include community health centers (Puskesmas), clinics, established vaccine centers, and outdoor vaccine services.
The government aims to vaccinate people that are aged from 18 years old with two doses or 0.5 ml with a two-week gap in between the shots.
The Jakarta health agency assures the screening process of vaccine recipients will remain the same as the vaccinations that use Sinovac vaccines. “There are already 28,000 people in Jakarta that have received AstraZeneca shots.”
