Jakarta Satpol PP Collects More PSBB Fines totaling Rp6.4 Billion

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) collected Rp686.75 million from the payment of fines of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in 2021 alone, or precisely from January 2021 to date. If calculated from June 5, 2020, the total amount is Rp6.425 billion.

Satpol PP published the information via its official Instagram account @satpolpp.dki on Tuesday, March 30, noting that the agency caught 155,810 violators who did not wear face masks outside from January 11 to March 29, 2021.

Of the total, 152,387 violators were sanctioned to conduct social service work, while the rest 3,423 paid a fine. The total amount of fines from people who did not wear face masks reached Rp515,75 million.

In the same period, 30,100 restaurants allegedly violated the health protocols. Of which, 26,517 were not proven to have committed violations, 386 were sealed for 1x24 hours, 123 were sealed for 3x24 hours, and 21 restaurants paid fines totaling Rp96 million.

The agency also dispersed crowds at 122 eateries and gave written warnings to other 2,930 outlets, as well as shut down one outlet temporarily.

From offices, business places, and industries categories, the agency detected 26,124 violations, collecting Rp75 million from 13 business places as the rest 23,515 were not found guilty of violating the Covid-19 pandemic policy.

Satpol PP also closed the activities of 105 business sites in Jakarta for 3x24 hours as they violated the PSBB, while 2,491 businesses were given a written warning.
