TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned market operator Pasar Jaya confirmed that 10,000 traders at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta would join a mass COVID-19 vaccination program on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
“[It will be held] most likely on Wednesday, February 17,” said Pasar Jaya public relations head Gatra Vaganza as quoted by Antara on Monday, February 15.
The vaccination is set to commence after the second stage of the inoculation program for health workers is completed.
For the first stage, the mass vaccination for traders would be carried out at Block A and Block B of the biggest textile market in Southeast Asia. “It will later be held comprehensively at Block A, B, F, and G,” Gatra added.
According to him, recipients of the vaccines will not only include traders, but also janitors up to security guards at the market.
Previously, data collection was carried out by gathering the Identity Cards (KTP) of each trader who was willing to be inoculated. The promotion about the vaccination program has also been conducted since Thursday, February 11.
The government plans to provide COVID-19 vaccines to all traders at 152 other markets under Pasar Jaya.
