TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency's (BPBD) Head of Data and Information Center, M. Insaf, said the capital city has not been affected by the flash flood that hit Puncak, Bogor, thus far.
The water level at the city’s sluice gate remained normal as of 2 p.m. today, added Insaf via a text message on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The regional BPBD, however, is coordinating with the Water Resources Agency to anticipate flooding from the highlands of Bogor.
As reported earlier, flash floods hit Tugu Selatan Village, Puncak Area, Cisarua, on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The Bogor BPBD Secretary Budi Pranowo, as quoted from Antara, reported that 134 families or 474 residents were evacuated.
The flooding destroyed dozens of houses and cut off several roads. However, the agency could not yet confirm about casualties or victims carried away by the overflowing of the river in Puncak areas as the data was still being collected, Budi said.
