Govt Preps Management of COVID-19 Vaccine Priority Recipients: Moeldoko

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo had ordered the COVID-19 mitigation task force to draft a list of priority recipients of COVID-19 vaccine and its distribution.

According to Moeldoko, vaccine distribution will not be easy, so preparations of human resources and vaccine storage are necessary. “The management is being drafted,” he said in a hearing with journalists and the media about the COVID-19 handling in Yogyakarta on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Moeldoko was referring to the recipients to be prioritized to get the vaccine, and the COVID-19 vaccination process based on their age. For example, how people under 18 years old are vaccinated.

The priority groups and distribution were being deliberated intensely in cabinet meetings. The vaccine from China, Moeldoko went on, was projected to be completed in November, December, or early January.

Throughout the nearly 90-minute session, Moeldoko and the Office of Presidential Staff (KSP) officials donned gray t-shirts promoting health protocols of wearing masks and discipline.

“My coming here wearing a t-shirt doesn’t mean to be rude. This shirt has meaning. Wear a mask and be disciplined for vaccine,” Moeldoko said.
