TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs, Fachrul Razi, had tested positive for Covid-19 on September 17. The ministry had since then ran contact tracing on people who had interacted with the minister.
"In total, 48 people had interacted with the minister. We conducted swab tests and the results came out negative for everyone," the ministry's spokesman, Oman Fathurrahman, said in Jakarta on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Oman said that in addition to family members, the ministry also traced down and held the swab tests on 32 of the ministry's staff—including the deputy and secretary.
Swab tests were also given to official of the ministry's regional office in West Nusa Tenggara and the National Islamic University of Mataram, as the minister had traveled there prior to being declared to have the virus.
"We traced 16 people and tested them. All negative," Oman said.
Other people who had met the minister during his visits also conducted self-tests. So far, they all reported negative results.
