TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Through the passing of presidential regulation (perpres) No.82/2020 on Monday, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has officially disbanded 18 state institutions.

The regulation effectively hands over their tasks to the ‘Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee’ and other a number of state-ministries as the perpres’ Article 19 mentions that the 18 institutions are annulled once the committee is established.

The following are the 18 state institutions that have been dissolved:

  1. Extractive Industries Transparency Team born under perpres No.26/2010.

  4. Sunda Strait Infrastructure and Strategic Area Development Agency introduced in 2011.
  5. The National Coordination Team for Mangrove Ecosystem Management founded in 2012.
  6. The water supply system improvement agency founded in 2016.
  7. The National Trade System Roadmap steering committee or e-commerce roadmap founded in 2017.
  8. Task Force for the Acceleration of Business Conduct established in 2017.
  9. PDAM Monitoring and Evaluation Coordination Team for the Provision of Guarantees and Interest Subsidies.
  10. Overseas Commercial Loans Team established in 1991.
  11. National Team for Multilateral Trade Negotiations within the framework of the World Trade Organization (2002).
  12. PLN restructure and rehabilitation team (2000).
  13. Financial sector policies committee (2003).
  14. Committee for forestry departments (2000).
  15. Export and import flow coordination team (2005).
  16. The national team on the improvement of exports investments (2010).
  17. Urban environment flats development coordination team (2006).
  18. National Committee for the Preparation of the Implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (2014).

Jokowi’s presidential regulation states that the responsibilities and tasks of the disbanded institutions will be taken over by the Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee and existing state-ministries.
