The Main Tasks of Jokowi's Economic Recovery Task Force

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday passed the presidential regulation (perpres) No.82/2020 effectively establishing the ‘Covid-19 Handling Committee and National Economic Recovery.’

One of the aspects contained within the committee is the task force on national economic recovery and transformation, which is led by State-owned Enterprises SOEs Deputy Minister Budi Gunawan Sadikin. 

The following are the four main tasks mandated upon the task force by Jokowi’s presidential regulation. 

1. Conduct and control the implementation of strategic policies related to national economic recovery and transformation. 
2. Quickly solve issues related to the strategic policy implementation related to national economic recovery and transformation, which includes issues facing the business sector. 
3. Supervise the implementation of national economic recovery and transformation strategic policies. 
4. Establish and carry out policies that are essential to accelerate national economic recovery.

Upon carrying out its duties, the task force on national economic recovery and transformation - which consists of members from the government and essential sources - will report directly to President Jokowi and the committee chairperson once every month.
