TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A patient who tested positive for the new coronavirus or known as COVID-19 escaped the isolation room of Persahabatan Hospital (RSUP) in East Jakarta. Hospital spokesperson Erlina Burhan said the person left without being noticed by the hospital.
“We just know it out after she escaped. The isolation room is not like a prison that can be locked, you see,” said Erlina during a press conference at Persahabatan Hospital, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Friday, March 13.
According to Erlina, the patient is a woman residing in Jakarta. The Jakarta Health Agency, she added, declared that the woman carried the COVID-19.
Until now, Erlina said the patient had not returned to the hospital yet and her side could not track the patient’s whereabouts or whether the latter was being isolated in another virus referral hospital or not.
To date, Persahabatan Hospital is treating five COVID-19 patients and monitoring 11 patients in its isolation rooms.
