5 Missing in Speed Boat Incident in Sebangau River

TEMPO.CO, Palangka Raya - A total of 5 passengers were reported missing after two speed boats crashed in Sebangau River, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan on March 9 at 12:00 p.m. local time. The search by a joint team was still afoot.
Reports said that the boat, which belonged to Sebangau National Park and was carrying seven passengers, crashed with a speed boat owned by the Indonesian Military that was monitoring the area for the upcoming visit of the Queen of the Netherlands.
A staffer of the national park, Yunus, confirmed the incident. “Two people have been found and the other five people are still missing,” he said, adding that the two victims had been rushed to hospital.
Meanwhile, Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) commander Maj. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak confirmed that all Paspampres members aboard the boat were safe. He added that the personnel surveyed the location ahead of the planned visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands on March 9-13.
