TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta’s Legislative Council (DPRD) Speaker Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, expressed disappointment toward Governor Anies Baswedan upon the alleged fabricated recommendation issuance to host the Formula E racing event in Monas (National Monument).
“This is a lawful nation. As a leader of the city’s legislative council, I am deeply disappointed by this public deception. That’s all I have to say,” said Prasetyo at the State Secretariat headquarters in Central Jakarta on Thursday, February 13.
Furthermore, the DPRD Speaker said he would summon the governor to clarify the alleged forgery of a recommendation letter from Jakarta’s cultural heritage expert panel.
“I will summon him as I still hold the gavel today. He may have the money, but I have the gavel. Nothing will happen if I don’t strike it,” Prasetyo firmly said.
The recommendation letter that is believed to be forged was used by the Jakarta Administration’s letter submitted to the State Secretary. Such a recommendation is needed to obtain a permit to use areas within Monas to be used as a temporary Formula E street circuit.
The DPRD Speaker said he indeed green light the budget to revitalize Monas, but was not meant to include the Formula E event.
