Jakarta Police Destroys 4.5 Kilos of Confiscated Heroin

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police destroyed several types of confiscated narcotics from Depok and Central Jakarta. Among the destroyed drugs is 4.5 kilograms of heroin.
"We do this twice a week, and everything is always done after we obtain a court warrant," Jakarta Metro Police PR chief Adj. Sr. Comr. I Gede Nyeneng said in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 29.
Gede said that a small amount of the confiscated drugs were set aside the drugs had been set aside in part to be used as evidence in court.
"The destruction of these drugs is witnessed by officials from the district court as well as the suspects, so they can see for themselves that the evidence has been destroyed," Gede said.
In addition to heroin, the police also destroyed 5.3 kilograms of methamphetamine, 14,200 ecstasy pills, 3,700 tramadol pills, 660 tryhexihenidil pills, and 8 heximers pills.
The police destroyed the drugs by putting them in a blender. Some of the suspects in the drugs case also helped with the process.
