Customs Destroyed Rp15bn of Illegal Imported Goods

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Trade Ministry and the Finance Ministry's Customs and Excise Directorate General destroyed illegal and ineligible imported goods on Wednesday, December 17.
Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto said the value of the destroyed goods was Rp15 billion.
Agus said that in addition to illegally imported goods, most of the goods destroyed were those that did not meet the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), pertaining to safety issues.
"The goods were found to have violated statutory provisions, such as not having trade certificates or SNI quality certificates," he said.
Among the items destroyed were luminaire products (4,742 units), water pumps (443), as well as forestry products such as wallpapers (600 boxes).
There were also foldable hoes (388 units) and flour products (200 kilograms), among others.
