TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir has met Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud Md. One of the meeting agenda is to discuss the threat of radicalism in state-run companies.
“I have received a report from him [Mahfud] which he got from his team. He also provided inputs in light of radicalism in SOEs,” said Erick at the Coordinating Ministry office, Jakarta, Thursday, December 5.
However, Erick was tight-lipped to detail the discussion. “I cannot tell about it,” he shortly said.
The minister asserted that Pancasila remains as the country’s ideology, and there is no other ideology in Indonesia.
“The state ideology had been decided: Pancasila, Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Bhineka Tunggal Ika. No other ideology in Indonesia. That had been decided from ages ago by the founding father,” Erick remarked.
He presumed that the spread of radicalism in his ministry environment is pinned down to employees who are exposed to the wrong knowledge about Islam.
“I think they also have positive feelings about existing development. They perhaps only get improper inputs that must be clarified,” he added.
In the meeting, Erick Thohir mentioned that Mahfud Md presented data and measures to be taken to tackle the spread of radicalism in SOEs.
