Minister Rudiantara Yet to Call Circular on Jokowi's Cabinet Hoax

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara was reluctant to comment on the draft of the cabinet minister of Joko Widodo or Jokowi - Ma’ruf Amin administration recently circulating on social networks. He asserted the official list of the second cabinet ministers should be announced by the President.

"The one who knows the cabinet list is Pak Jokowi. That’s it. We have to be logic. Except [him], it must not be true," said Rudiantara in the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs office, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 17.

However, Rudiantara has yet to order his ministry to call the issue a hoax because he has not read the broadcasted draft yet. Besides, he added, the ministry did not have access to verify the matter.

Previously on April 27, the ministry labeled information on the Working Cabinet II of Jokowi - Ma’ruf that made rounds on social media platform Facebook hoax news.

Rudiantara reiterated that checking false report regarding the cabinet structure is different than proving other issues.

“So I don’t know about it, I cannot check that. Hoax in other sectors can be examined, but this one makes me confused. If I say this is a fabrication, and it turns out to be right, I’ll be accused to be the one who spread a lie,” he said.

Earlier, a draft of names of Jokowi - Ma’ruf's ministers circulated on social networks. The letter has a letterhead of Garuda Pancasila symbol and the name of Koalisi Indonesia Maju. The chosen names are reportedly based on the results of the meeting on ministerial appointment in Sentul City International Convention Center, Bogor, Sunday, July 14.
