TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto has spoken about the possibility of a meeting with his political rival Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
“Inshallah, it will be set,” said the Gerindra Party Chair in his residence, Jalan Kertanegara Selatan, Thursday, June 27, during a press conference in light of the Constitutional Court’s (MK) ruling that rejected his claims on presidential election dispute.
When asked about the time, Prabowo only smiled and waved his hands to media reporters.
Previously, Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Jokowi’s envoy had likely met Prabowo for reconciliation. The messenger was rumored to be the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) head Budi Gunawan, and Luhut said there was a possibility.
“That could be,” Luhut told reporters in Parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
Jokowi, he added, even had no hesitation should he must visit the opposition leader in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, as he did in 2014.
“Yes, it is possible. Nothing is impossible. Jokowi is a humble man. He is very modest as his mother, and for the country’s interest, I think Jokowi won't hesitate to do anything,” said Luhut.
