TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Local residents blocked Jalan Perimeter Utara near the construction project of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Runway 3, demanding compensation for the land cleared for the project. Besides blocking the road, the people flew kites until today, June 25.
State-run airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Yado Yarismano, said that the compensation payment for the land to be built as the airport Runway 3 was still in a consignment process in Tangerang District Court as referred to the Law No. 2 of 2012.
“The compensation cannot be disbursed yet because the lands are still in dispute,” Yado told Tempo, Tuesday, June 25.

The legal land dispute, he added, emerged as several residents (between them) claimed their rights on the land. “AP II synergizes with all related stakeholders including District Court and National Land Agency (BPN) to speed up the settlement of the compensation payment,” Yado noted.
According to Yado, 3,021 land plots with an area of 167,52 hectares, as needed for the runway project, had been cleared per January 25, 2019. The total compensation for the land clearance amounted to Rp3.35 trillion.
Out of the cleared lands, the compensation for 209 land plots with an area of 309,452-meter squares resided by some 200 families yet to be paid. However, AP II had run a consignment at Tangerang DC. The total compensation deposited at the court amounted to Rp430.35 billion.
