Police Arrest Prabowo`s Campaigner on Treason Charges

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lieus Sungkharisma, member of the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno campaign team or BPN, was arrested by Jakarta Police this morning, May 20. Lieus was arrested at his home under alleged treason charges.
"He was taken by officer at 09:00. He is now being take to the Metro Jaya Police station for questioning," National Police Headquarters spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said in Jakarta this morning.
Lieus was reported by Eman Soleman for allegedly spreading false news and committing treason. The report was filed on May 7 to the Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Unit.

The report was then transferred to the Metro Jaya Police. "Yesterday we handed over the case file to the Metro Jaya Police and it was received by the Criminal Investigation Directorate," Dedi said.
The report said that Lieus Sungkharisma spread lies, which is a punishable violation of several laws, including for spreading false news and committing treason.
On May 14, Lieus was called in for questioning when the case was still handled by the Bareskrim, but he did not appear to the station as he was still looking for a lawyer.
He failed to appear before the police again on May 17, saing he had not received the investigator's summons.
