TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A garlic farmer from Brebes Muhammad Subkhan, is set to report Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI) politician Guntur Romli to the police's criminal investigation agency (Bareskrim) for the alleged hoax the politician spread through Twitter.
"Yes we will file a report against him," said Subkhan's lawyer Muhammad Fayyadh on Friday, February 15, 2019.
Guntur Romli previously tweeted about Subkhan's emotional outpour in front of vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno on February 12, 2019. Guntur accused Subkhan's emotional complaint about the condition of garlic farmers as a fabricated act.
According to Fayyadh, his team has obtained several items used as evidence to file the police report such as a screenshot of the video that Guntur Romli uploaded, which has now been erased. He says that he will report Guntur Romli for an alleged violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law (UU ITE).
