TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo has visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday morning, November 9. He claimed to have been invited by KPK chairman Agus Rahardjo.
“I’m invited by KPK chairman, let him [Agus Raharjo] explain it later,” said Tjahjo before the KPK building in Kuningan, Jakarta.
Tjahjo arrived in the KPK building boarding Toyota Royal Saloon with a plate number RI 21 at 09:30 local time. Wearing a red plaid shirt, the minister was accompanied by Hadi Prabowo, the ministry’s acting secretary-general.
Tjahjo remained tight-lipped on the reason for his visit. When asked about whether his visit related to regional heads arrested during KPK’s sting operations, the PDIP Politician asked reporters to wait.
Today was not the first-time visit of Tjahjo Kumolo to KPK. The minister had visited the anti-graft body on September 4, 2018, for talks on the hike of graft cases implicating regional heads.
A day after, Tjahjo came to KPK along with eight governors and deputy governors inaugurated by President Joko Widodo to hear the commission’s direction in preventing corruption.
