TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent a notice to the Law and Human Rights Ministry ordering the ministry to issue a travel ban on Setya Novanto’s (Setnov) wife Deisti Astriani Tagor in relation to the investigation into the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case.

The KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said that the travel ban will be effective for six months starting November 21. He said that investigators need her as a witness in the e-KTP graft case.

Deisti has been questioned by the KPK on several occasions as a witness for suspect Anang Sugiana. She skipped a questioning on November 10 for health reasons.

KPK has found the involvement of Setnov’s family in the e-KTP project. The fact was revealed in the graft trial sessions. On November 3 trial session, for example, Golkar Party chairman Setya Novanto confirmed that he once served as a commissioner at PT Mondialindo Graha Perdana, a majority shareholder of PT Murakabi Sejahtera, one of the winning bidders in the e-KTP project.

PT Murakabi was led by Setya Novanto’s nephew, Irvanto Hendra Pambudi. The company’s stakes were also owned by Vidi Gunawan, the younger brother of e-KTP graft case defendant Andi Narogong.

KPK prosecutors said that Setnov’s wife and son owned 50 percent and 30 percent shares, respectively, at PT Mondialindo in 2008-2011 periods.

As of press time, Setya Novanto could not be immediately reached for comment. He is currently being questioned by the KPK.
