Hundreds Stage Candlelight Vigil for Diversity in Yogyakarta
Kamis, 1 Januari 1970 07:00 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Hundreds of people in Tugu Yogyakarta Square held a candlelight vigil on Wednesday night, May 10.
“The act is held in support of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama [inactive Jakarta governor Ahok] and calling for unity of all Indonesians regardless of race and religious sentiments,” vigil coordinator Pedro Inharto said.
He said that the candlelight is a symbol of people’s concern over rising racial and religious tensions of late.
