TEMPO.CO, London - Gwyneth Paltrow has always been impressed by Indonesia, especially Komodo Island in East Nusa Tenggara. "My dream came true when I visited Indonesia for the first time," she wrote on her private blog at Goop.com.
"I have never imagined that we would walk our hands through the dark night sea, watching phosphor's luminescence, witnessing komodos in wild life and swimming with giant turtles," she said. She also learned how to make local food on the island. Cooking is one of Gwyneth's hobbies as she is also known as a food writer.
At the website, she displayed what she called amazing photos taken during her vacation on the island. Gwyneth admitted to have planned the trip after her findings about a trading ship carrying out a historical sailing along the spices routes originated from the archipelago.
The Shakespeare in Love star explained how the trades in the island are conducted directly from the boats. She enjoyed shopping before cooking them into a special dinner.
"Around Loh Buaya Island, there are many fishermen villages, upon seeing us, the fishermen paddle up while carrying their catches or artworks they have made that day," she wrote. She was surprised to be able to buy some sea yields with several cans of soda.
Paltrow admitted, although a bit nervous, her group succeeds to follow the komodo traces. At the end of her writing, she expressed her good times in visiting the exotic island. "Spending the afternoon on the Pink Beach, you will see the colors of the beautiful reefs surrounding the islands."
The Hollywood star fluently describes : The country having 17,000 island groups is really exotic.
