KPK Chief to be Probed on Tuesday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Abraham Samad, the inactive Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief, said that he is ready to be probed by South and West Sulawesi Police on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 as a suspect for alleged document forgery.
Adnan Buyung Azis, the coordinator of Abraham’s lawyer team in South Sulawesi, said Abraham will be cooperative in facing the probe.
“Abraham Samad said on Friday last week that he is ready to be probed. He will be cooperative,” Adnan told Tempo on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Adnan said the lawyer team under the name of the Anti-Criminalization Advocacy Team (Taktis) was still waiting for Abraham to give his confirmation on Monday, April 27, 2015 to attend the probe. Adnan added that Abraham Samad has not expressed any objection to be probed on Tuesday.
Adnan revealed that his team had made the necessary preparations, should the investigation into Abraham’s case be carried out to a trial.
Sr. Comr. Joko Hartanto, the director of general crime investigation ant South and West Sulawesi Police, confirmed that Abraham has been summoned to be probed on Tuesday. The letter was sent to Abraham on Thursday, April 23, 2015.
Earlier, Abraham Samad was named as a suspect for document forgery as reported by Chairil Chaidar Said, the director of a non-government organization overseeing the KPK and the National Police. The case was handed over to the South and West Sulawesi Police who later named Feriyani Lim and Abraham Samad as suspects. Abraham has been accused of assisting Feriyani to forge family and ID cards when applying for passport renewal in Makassar back in 2007.
