TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Navy officer confirmedthatthey will deploy six warships to secure Indonesia's waters throughout the 60the commemoration of the Asian-African Conference. Commander of the Western Fleet, Rear Admiral A. Taufiq, said the ships were launched in a military ceremony at the Jakarta International Container Terminal, Tanjung Priok, on Monday, April 20.
In addition to the warships, the Indonesian Navy is also deploying one Cassa U-618 aircraft, two helicopters, and two sea riders.
"We are ready to maintain maritime security during the AAC event," he said.
Marine Force Combat Commander, First Admiral T.S.N.B. Hutabarat, said the six warships will patrol a number of points in the north and south areas of the island of Java.
