Indonesia, Singapore Step Up Corruption Eradication Cooperation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 60th Asian African Conference (AAC) is a chance for Indonesia and Singapore to increase their bilateral relations in handling cases of corruption and money laundering.
"The bilateral meeting was conducted during the AAC on Wednesday," said the Foreign Ministry through press release dated Thursday, April 23, 2015.
During the meeting, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo appreciated the protection given by the Singaporean government to Indonesian migrant workers and citizens.
Singapore has become one of the largest investors to Indonesia in the last five years and Indonesia's third largest trading partner, after China and Japan.
One of the sectors that Indonesia and Singapore focus on improving and prioritizing is logistic development.
Indonesia and Singapore will also establish cooperation in tourism. In 2014, the number of tourists from Singapore that visited Indonesia reached up to 1.5 million people, 10.12 percent higher compared to the previous year.
