TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission will continue to investigate the alleged bribery at the Upstream Oil and Gas Special Task Force (SKK Migas). KPK spokesman Johan Budi said the commission is still developing the case that has ensnared SKK Migas former chief Rudi Rubiandini.

"The case has developed in two directions, the briber and the taker," Johan said yesterday.

The Jakarta Corruption Court yesterday sentenced Kaltim Parna Industri president director Artha Meris Simbolon to three years in prison and a fine of Rp100 million for bribing Rudi with US$522,500 (Rp6.2 billion).

In Rudi's trial April, prosecutors said at least three SKK Migas officials also gave money to Rudi, including the vice chairman Johannes Widjanarko, business support deputy Gerhard Rumeser, and operations support division head Iwan Ratman.

As of to day, the three men's statuses in the trial are witnesses. Meanwhile, Rudi was sentenced to seven years in prison for illegally collecting money to US$10 billion.
