TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Fair Kemayoran 2024 successfully wrapped up with a record-breaking Rp7.5 trillion in transactions and a total of 6.3 million visitors, announced Jakarta Regional Secretary Joko Agus Setyono.

The 33-day event, which was part of the celebrations for Jakarta's 497th anniversary, was concluded on Sunday, July 14. “I’m pleased with the public enthusiasm that the event managed to book transactions of more than Rp7.5 trillion. This figure has surpassed last year's total of Rp7.3 trillion,” said Joko in a written statement on Monday, July 15.

He attributed the event's success to the collaboration between organizers of PT Jakarta Internasional Expo, business actors, and the community. At least 2,550 tenants and 1,550 booths participated in the fair.

“This event not only enlivens the celebration of the 497th anniversary of the city but also spurs Indonesian economic activity and encourages equitable growth in all industrial sectors,” Joko said.

He expressed optimism for future events and emphasized Jakarta’s pivotal role in the national economy, contributing 17% to the GDP.

“In accordance with Law No. 2 of 2024 concerning the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ), the City of Jakarta is transforming into the center of the national economy and a global city,” Joko remarked.

He said the future development of Jakarta will focus on enhancing competitiveness and attracting global investment with its uniqueness and cultural diversity, while maintaining its status as a center for various movements.
