Jakarta Police Deploy 2,000 Personnel for Bruno Mars Concert at JIS

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police has deployed 2,000 joint personnel to ensure security during the Bruno Mars concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Wednesday night, September 11, 2024.
“[The deployment of personnel aims to] prioritize preventive measures and intelligence activities to maintain public security and order,” said Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police in a written statement on Wednesday.
The personnel involved represent the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and the Jakarta Provincial Government. Ade specified that the Regional Task Force consists of 1,628 personnel, the Resort Task Force has 160 personnel, and the TNI and local government contribute 212 personnel.
Security efforts at JIS started at 5:00 p.m. Jakarta time, with the show scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Concertgoers can enter through designated gates starting at 5:00 p.m.
“Traffic management will be adjusted based on the situation on the ground,” Ade Ary added.
In addition to JIS, the Jakarta Metro Police would also implement security measures at the hotel where Bruno Mars and his crew are staying. Local traffic police would regulate traffic flow around JIS.
Security personnel are prepared to address potential threats, including sharp objects, explosives, and suspicious items, during the concert. “We are closely monitoring for liquids, Molotov cocktails, and suspicious objects in the vicinity,” Ade Ary concluded.
