TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued dismissal orders to 66 employees who were found to have accepted bribes from detainees at the commission's detention center. The antigraft body spokesman Ali Fikri said the dismissals were based on the results of a disciplinary inspection of KPK officials that was completed on April 2.

Ali said the inspection was carried out by an inspection team consisting of direct supervisors, supervisory elements, and personnel elements. "From the inspection, 66 employees were found to have violated PP 94/2021 on Civil Servant Discipline, namely Article 4(i), Article 5(a), and Article 5(k)," he said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, on April 17, 2024, the KPK Secretary General, as the civil service development officer, issued a decision on severe disciplinary punishment in the form of dismissal as a civil servant, as stipulated in Article 8 paragraph (4) letter c PP 94 of 2021. This dismissal will be effective on the 15th day after the disciplinary decision is served to the employees.

Ali said that the decision to fire the employees is part of the Corruption Eradication Commission's commitment to complete internal violations and have zero tolerance for corrupt practices.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has also imposed ethical sanctions based on the board's decision, as well as investigations into alleged criminal acts of corruption.

"As we know, the Corruption Eradication Commission has named 15 people as suspects and arrests have been made," he said.

Based on this dismissal, Ali said, the KPK was also coordinating with the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) to ensure that the employees' labor rights were handled in accordance with due regulations.
