TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential Expert Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana confirmed that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will inaugurate two state officials today, October 25, 2023. They are the Minister of Agriculture and the Army Chief of Staff.

Ari, however, refused to disclose the names of the two state officials. “Wait for it at 9 a.m.,” he told Tempo via a text message today.

Earlier, the President announced that he would reshuffle the Onward Indonesia Cabinet this week. “It (cabinet reshuffle) is still being prepared,” he said in Senayan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 24.

He did not name the figure who will take over as Agriculture Minister. When asked by journalists about the issue of the Democratic Party joining the cabinet, he just smiled and nodded.

Meanwhile, news spread that Amran Sulaiman will return to his position as Agriculture Minister, replacing Syahrul Yasin Limpo who is currently embroiled in an alleged corruption case. Amran, who is a former minister of agriculture, visited the Merdeka Palace on September 15, 2023.

Amran has not yet responded to Tempo’s messages regarding news of his return to the cabinet.

In addition, circulating issues suggested that Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman would be replaced by Deputy Lt. Gen. H Agus Subiyanto. Dudung is due to retire on November 19, 2023.

Agus was seen having a closed-door meeting with President Jokowi last Monday, October 24, 2023.
