TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi demanded that the Government Work Plan (RKP) for 2025 be meticulously prepared based on three primary principles: rhythmic, results-oriented, and right on target. Next year, the government will be led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is Jokowi's eldest son.
During the 2024 National Development Plan Deliberation Meeting held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Convention Hall in Jakarta on Monday, May 6, the President stressed the importance of coherence between government policies and regional aspirations.
“Everything must be in line,” he stressed. “If, for example, the central government wants to boost food production, while the regions aim to convert rice fields into property, then this plan does not match.”
He also said that the RKP must be based on results by paying attention to the economic returns. Furthermore, he called for the government budget to be allocated according to existing priority programs and not to be used for unproductive programs.
Prabowo and Gibran were declared the elected president and vice president on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. To date, the pair has not yet disclosed the composition of the government transition team. During the election campaign, the Defense Minister and the Solo Mayor pledged to continue the vision and mission of the current Jokowi administration.
