TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi rode on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train (KCJB) during the trial run today, June 22.
They took the ride from Halim Station to Padalarang Station and then from Tegalluar Station using the feeder train to return to Halim Station
“We tried a speed of 350 kilometers per hour until reaching the peak of 385 kilometers per hour briefly,” Luhut said at Halim Station, East Jakarta, on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
Luhut said that he had received a report regarding the train tests and the results were quite good. “The shaking and others are very good,” he opined.
Holding meetings on the bullet train, he went on, could run well without any sound like on a general train. He deemed this a technological leap.
Minister Budi Karya also said that riding the train at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour was felt stable. “We can walk without holding [on something]. This is remarkable,” he said.
It is now the time for Indonesia to be in the era of high-speed trains and for the first time, it is operated in the country at the same speed as those in China. “So China has trains with the speed of 350 kilometers per hour in two locations and Indonesia operates it for the first time,” Budi Karya said.
