TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC) will soon conduct a commissioning test for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train or KCJB which includes testing and assessing the infrastructure and system integration, as well as the dynamic test of the EMU/CIT trip which will be performed along the tracks.

Today, May 15, however, there will be no electric multiple units (EMU) or comprehensive inspection train (CIT) trip yet.

“The initial stage of the commissioning test will begin with the preparation of testing the integration of infrastructure systems, fixed assets such as signaling, telecommunications, catenaries, OCC (Operation Control Center), depots, and stations,” said General Manager of KCIC Corporate Secretary, Rahadian Ratry, in a written statement, Monday, May 15, 2023.

According to him, an independent test had been carried out on the facilities and infrastructure to ensure that all subsystems run normally according to predetermined standards and specifications. The independent test process has started since April 2023.

Rahadian also said that to secure the procedure, his side consulted with independent consultants, NERC and CARS, who assisted in the implementation of the train commissioning test.

The dynamic test will be first carried out by running the Locomotive Diesel (DMU) for several days at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. “Then the EMU trip will begin as part of the commissioning test at a limited speed until it reaches the technically permitted speed of 385 kilometers per hour,” Rahadian explained.

Rahadiann further asserted that although the CIT or EMU will not pass by soon, the public is still asked to stay away from the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train tracks because the electricity will be activated and the power for the KCJB Overhead Catenary System will reach 27.5 KV. “That is extremely dangerous,” he underlined.
