TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Composite Index (IHSG) on Thursday noon slumped to 6,791.9 after Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war against Ukraine.
The Russian President announced the military operation he deemed as a demilitarization of Ukraine, which is effectively a declaration of war.
Up until the publishing of this piece, 512 shares weakened while 77 logged top gainers, with 81 remaining stagnant. The market capitalization is recorded at Rp 8,628.7 trillion.
This comes after the IHSG opened strong this morning by jumping 7.58 points (0,11 percent) to 6,912.48. The group of 45 leading stocks or the LQ45 index at the beginning of trading recorded an increase of 3.19 points or 0.32 percent to 981.89.
Earlier this morning, Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia research team warned about this situation by predicting the IHSG will be affected by the negative sentiments coming from the regional and global exchanges.
