TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) will be connected to Ancol Carnival Beach in North Jakarta. The collaboration was set in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at JIS this afternoon, October 28.

“We are signing an MoU regarding the interconnection between JIS and Ancol,” said Ancol President Director Teuku Sahir Syahali through an online broadcast, Thursday, October 28.

According to him, the distance between the beach and the stadium reaches around 400 meters. With the connection, visitors of the stadium can park their vehicles in Ancol since the parking spaces at JIS are limited.

Teuku further hoped that this collaboration could improve services in both institutions.

Meanwhile, President Director of the city-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro Widi Amanasto added that the connection was first initiated by the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) during the Budget Committee’s (Banggar) meeting. He said there would be a pedestrian bridge (JPO) connecting JIS and Ancol.

Widi also said that the construction project of the stadium has entered its 112th week and has reached 78.12 percent completion.
