Jakarta International Stadium Designed to Hold International Concert: Jakpro

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) is exploring possibilities to actively operate Jakarta International Stadium or JIS in North Jakarta, including hosting international music concerts.

“One of the music groups that Jakpro is exploring is the South Korean Pop Group Bangtan Boys or BTS,” said Jakpro's Corporate Secretary Nadia Diposanjoyo in a written statement on Monday, October 25.

According to Nadia, JIS which is equipped with a sophisticated sound system and a retractable roof has met international standards to be able to host the World Cup and other international events.

“JIS will also have multipurpose venues,” she added.

The stadium’s sound system equipment is similar to those used by sound professionals that follow FIFA standards.

JIS construction in its 111th week has reached 76.52 percent. By the end of this month, the project was targeted to be 80-percent complete.

Nadia also mentioned that the stadium’s flagship features, such as the corporate box, media room, royal lounge, press conference room, and locker room, have entered the finishing stage. “The turf in the main stadium is almost 100 percent installed.”
