TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Today, Thursday, September 30, 2021, 57 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have been officially fired. They are employees who are considered not to have passed the national insight test.

The decree for dismissing the employee was signed by the Chairperson of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, on September 13, 2021. In the Decree Number 1354 of 2021, the KPK respectfully dismissed the employee on September 30, 2021.

This dismissal is the peak of the TWK polemic that has been going on since April 2021. The implementation of the TWK has started to get the spotlight because the questions in the test are considered irrelevant to the work at the KPK and discriminatory.

It was later discovered that there were 75 KPK employees who were deemed not to have passed the test. They then reported the implementation of the test to the Indonesian Ombudsman and Komnas HAM. The Ombudsman stated that there was a violation of layered procedures in the test. Komnas HAM stated that there were 11 types of human rights violations in the tests carried out by the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency as well as a number of other institutions.

In a meeting on May 25, 2021, it was decided that out of 75 employees, 51 were considered unable to be trained. While the other 24 can be appointed as state civil servants as long as they are willing to take part in national insight training. Some of the 24 people refused to undergo the training therefore totalled to 56 employees being fired, plus 1 person who has entered retirement.

In its development, the number of employees who will be fired is added by one person, namely Lakso Anindito. Lakso is an employee who participated in the follow-up TWK on September 20, 2021. He only found out that he would be fired the day before the official dismissal letter took effect on September 30, 2021.
