TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Inactive employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), including Novel Baswedan, asked the KPK Supervisory Board to file a police report against Lili Pintauli Siregar. According to them, Lili had committed a criminal offense.

“It is a basic principle for supervisory institutions including BPKP, BPK, and others that if a criminal element is found in the investigation, the supervisory agency is obliged to report it to law enforcement,” said Novel as the inactive employees’ representative on Thursday, September 2.

Novel said the suggestion of the criminal report was based on the Supervisory Board’s ruling in which Lili was legally proven to have abused her influence for personal interests and was in contact with other parties under case investigation being handled by the anti-graft body. This is as regulated in Article 4 (2)a and b of the KPK Supervisory Council’s Decree or Perdewas No. 2 of 2020.

Novel Baswedan said the KPK Supervisory Board indirectly stated that Lili Pintauli had committed acts that were prohibited in Article 36 of the KPK Law. “Violation of Article 36 of Law 20 of 2002 means that a criminal violation has occurred,” he said.
