TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's women's doubles badminton players Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu (Greysia / Apriyani) won the gold medal after beating China's Chen Qing Chen / Jia Yi Fan at the Tokyo Olympics Monday, August 2, 2021.

They won in two straight sets at 21-19 and 21-15, the first ever medal for Indonesia's badminton women's doubles.

The victory of Greysia / Apriyani, who ranked sixth in the world, secured one gold medal for badminton at the Tokyo Olympics.

Indonesia still has a chance to bag a bronze medal in the men’s singles. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will face Guatemala’s Cordon Kevin in this afternoon’s match.
