TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eight Indonesian badminton players will continue their fight in the last 16 of the All England 2024 competition held in Birmingham England on Thursday, March 14.
Indonesian athletes are still competing in all categories of the competition to fight for quarter-final tickets, with three players in the men's singles.
From the men's singles, Jonatan Christie, Anthony Ginting, and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo will match with representatives of Thailand, Japan, and China.
In the men's doubles, Indonesia's mainstay Fajar/Rian will play Japan, and Bagas/Fikri will meet India.
Fajar/Rian who won the men’s doubles in All England 2023, went through to the top 16, after winning over Taiwanese pair Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee in the first round, through straight games 21-13, 21-9 in the match held at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham.
"I'm grateful to be able to perform again at the All England, I can also be given smoothness in the first match. We are quite excited and hopefully we can always win matches in every match," Fajar said, as reported by Antara.
Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja represent mixed doubles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in women's singles, and Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti represent Indonesia in women's doubles.
