TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - Heavy rains showering South Tangerang since Monday night, May 17, until today morning have flooded a number of areas.
“Based on the team's observation in the field, Pondok Kacang Timur Subdistrict of Pondok Aren, or particularly Pondok Maharta housing complex, Kavling Kampung Bulak, Pondok Kacang Prima, and Bintaro Gallery, are flooded,” informed the South Tangerang Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) via Instagram’s direct message on Tuesday, May 18.
The agency's monitoring team also detected floodwater in the area of the Pondok Aren Subdistrict.
“There is also a flood spot in Puri Bintaro Hijau housing complex. We are monitoring the area and coordinating with the local people,” it said.
Until now, the regional BPBD is still on the location to ensure the conditions. “We also evacuate residents,” wrote the BPBD.
The highest level of floodwater was reported in Kavling Kampung Bulak reaching 150 centimeters, followed by the floodwater level in Pondok Maharta housing complex at 100 centimeters.
“15 personnel are deployed in each area and rubber boat units are on standby to evacuate flood victims,” South Tangerang BPBD added.
