TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Jakarta Health Agency’s disease prevention and control, Dwi Oktavia, on Friday said the city had recorded new 2,541 additional cases of COVID-19 from 17,812 specimens tested.
A total of 136 of the confirmed cases were accumulated from one National Armed Forces (TNI) hospital and one private-owned laboratory for the past 7 days reported by the Jakarta administration.
“This means there are 20,800 active cases of patients treated in hospitals and isolation facilities,” said Dwi on January 15. The capital's positivity rate is recorded at 16.9 percent, which is well above the 5 percent pegged by the World Health Organization (WHO).
In total, Jakarta has recorded 220,434 cases of COVID-19 infection with 195,924 cases of recoveries, making the recovery rate in the capital stand at 88.9 percent. The city’s mortality rate is 1.7 percent, which Dwi said remained below the national mortality rate of 2.9 percent.
