TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned Bank DKI has filed a police report regarding an alleged ATM robbery committed by several personnel of the capital's Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

“Since the beginning when this case was brought up, Bank DKI had made a report to law enforcers,” said the bank’s corporate secretary, Herry Djufraini, in a written statement, Monday, November 18.

However, Herry stopped short of detailing the number of officers who were reported and the total number of money that was stolen.

Herry asserted that the case would not affect the clients’ savings and the robbery was caused by errors in the system of other ATM banks used by the perpetrators.

He also called on the public to not fret over the bank's security following the ATM robbery that was allegedly committed by 12 members of Satpol PP.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Satpol PP Chief Arifin unveiled that the total stolen money amounted to Rp32 billion as recorded throughout May until August 2019.

“They [perpetrators] claimed to have committed the crime since long ago. The huge money was not withdrawn at once,” said Arifin via phone call in Jakarta, Monday.

Arifin added that the 12 officers hailed from West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta, and that they had been suspended as of today, November 18.
