Jakarta Satpol PP Takes Part in Security Measures for New Year's Eve Celebration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) Arifin confirmed that he will deploy 490 personnel to secure the 2023 New Year's Eve celebration as the provincial government will hold youth entertainment activities and apply the car-free night policy.
“We are also involved in security measures by deploying approximately 490 personnel,” Arifin said at City Hall, Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
This is done to ensure the safety of the entertainment stages that have been prepared at six points. The agency will also help block roads in the car-free night area.
“Our task at Satpol PP is first to help block vehicles, which is likely to start at 20:00 WIB,” said Arifin, adding that the personnel will also manage street vendors.
Areas that will be concerned by Satpol PP include Kota Tua; Sunter Lake area, North Jakarta; the CNI Puri area, West Jakarta; China Town area, PIK 2; BKT, East Jakarta; Bulungan Area, South Jakarta; and the Akbar Mosque area, Central Jakarta.
For Christmas Eve security measures, at least 1,406 personnel will be deployed to 429 churches throughout Jakarta areas.
