Over 200 Satpol PP Personnel to Secure HI Roundabout on New Year's Eve

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Some 230 personnel of Jakarta public order (Satpol PP) will be readied at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (Bundaran HI) area on the New Year's Eve. It is aimed at anticipating the crowds willing to celebrate the moment.
"Usually, people visit HI Roundabout and Sudirman areas on new year's eve. And we, together with other parties involved, will secure the area," said Central Jakarta Satpol PP chief Bernard Tambunan in a statement on Wednesday, December 29.
In addition to those places, Bernard and his forces will also secure other crowd potential areas, namely Monas gates, the United States Embassy, Plaza Indonesia, Sumenep Park, Jalan Benjamin Sueb. and Istiqlal Mosque.
Prior to this, deputy governor Ahmad Riza asked people to refrain from hosting a celebratory events or fireworks party during the Christmas and new year holidays as it might create crowds and violate the health protocols.
