Authorities Confiscate Hundreds of Liquors During Raids

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) confiscated 188 bottles of liquor of different kinds and brands during the raids in Kemayoran, Senen and Tanah Abang.

"The raids were done on Thursday night," said Satpol PP Chief of Civil Service Investigation Unit (PPNS), Gatra Pratama, in his statement today, November 12, 2021.

He explained that the raids were done to maintain safety and public order. It was also in accordance with Regional Regulation No. 8/2007 during PPKM Level 1. Moreover, his unit received complaints from citizens concerning illegal alcohol sold at small shops.

Hundreds of liquor bottles confiscated from merchants and distributors that do not have a liquor sales-permit. "The confiscated items will be stored in the Central Jakarta Satpol PP office for it to be destroyed later, in December," Pratama remarked.
