TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PDIP politician Dewi Tanjung challenged the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) to show proofs that she spread hoaxes regarding the acid attack on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan. Dewi said she is not afraid if Novel, or the ICW, wants to press charges against her

"Just tell (NGOs) to show proofs of hoax, lies, or slanders," Dewi said after being questioned by the Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, November 11.

Dewi was questioned about her report against Novel. She accuses the man, who is the cousin of Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan, of fabricating the acid attack on him.

Novel responds casually to Dewi's accusation, and said that it was only her way of "seeking sensations".

Meanwhile, the ICW gave their two cents on the matter, saying what Dewi is doing is an efforts to smokescreen the slow investigation of the attack. The ICW threatened they would press charges against Dewi for spreading hoaxes and making false reports.

Responding to the ICW and Novel, Dewi said she knew it was coming. She said Novel and the ICW can go ahead with pressing charges.

"That's fine. Pak Novel has a right to report me back. Should I be surprised? I knew this would happen," Dewi Tanjung remarked.
