TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leadership candidate (Capim) I Nyoman Wara revealed the reason behind the issuance of BPK’s qualified opinion (WDP) regarding the anti-graft agency’s 2018 financial report.

According to I Nyoman, who is also the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) auditor, the WDP was given because there was inconsistency in KPK’s report on confiscation goods.

“The confiscated items since 2016 were never recorded in the financial report. They only started documenting them since 2017 till now, but the reports are still undisciplined,” said I Nyoman at the parliamentary complex on Wednesday, September 11.

One example he gave involves confiscation of an item valued at Rp1.093 trillion, which was documented with a different value. The BPK also found that KPK has yet established a formal standard operating procedure (SOP) on how to manage confiscated items from graft suspects.

“The accounting documented it at Rp1.093 trillion, but in another KPK unit (lakbusi) wrote it as Rp1.4 trillion. There is a gap nearly up to Rp400 billion there. This must be confirmed to determine the actual value,” said Nyoman.

Speaking in the capacity as a leadership candidate for KPK, I Nyoman promised that he would fix the glaring issues regarding confiscated goods and inventories.
